Vianzola quarry (Lardeira)
SAMACA 44 comes from the Vianzola quarry, located in the area of Lardeira (the highest village in Galicia), within the municipality of Carballeda de Valdeorras (Ourense, Spain). The quarry has been in operation since the 1990s and is worked as an open-pit site. It belongs to the Rozadais formation of the Upper Ordovician.
This is a black slate with a fine grain and a rustic texture. It is characterised by its high homogeneity and excellent performance, as well as a very high degree of fissility, making it easy to work and install.
